Below are listings of websites where information can be found on candidates. Most of these are websites based on Candidate answers to questionnaires. Please keep in mind that candidates can receive hundreds of questionnaires from PACs, organizations, voter guides, etc., each election season. They can choose for time purposes to answer only a few. Just because a website does not have a candidate’s response to questions does not mean the candidate necessarily chose to not answer.
Also, please keep in mind what PACs or organization questionnaires your source might have compiled their voter guide answers from if the candidate did not personally answer a questionnaire for them. Many voter guides base their ratings on looking at voting records, how other organizations might have rated them, etc. For additional information, peruse the candidates’ websites as well as their personal Facebook/Instagram pages. Many times, true character comes forth on a candidate’s personal web pages.
Most of the listed websites have responses for the major offices. However, when one is considering the smallest, but one of the most important, voting blocks – precinct committeemen - there are usually no published voter guides that the candidates have answered. In this instance, the voter needs to investigate all means possible in order to ascertain their political affiliations and thoughts. Consequently, social media pages such as Facebook or Instagram pages, organization web sites, affiliations with other candidates, etc., can be a valuable tool for the voter to gain information on a candidate.
Consider the questions asked and how they were phrased when judging a candidate’s answers. Please pay attention to the organization sponsoring the website. Research and consider certain party designations:
Far Left Democrat– borderline socialist
Moderate Democrat – liberal to moderate liberal
Moderate Republican – moderate conservative to conservative
Far Right Republican – borderline libertarian/anarchist
